Newtonmore v Kinlochshiel

Newtonmore travelled to Balmacara on Saturday knowing that one point would probably be enough to secure the premier league title for the fourth consecutive season,
'More started strongly and showed that we were looking to win the game , it took only 7 minutes for Danny to get on the scoresheet and six mins later Glen added the second with a trademark rocket which gave the keeper no chance. 'Shiel hitting down the slope were back in the game just a a short time later when they had time to drive the ball past Mike. 'More dominated the rest of the half and increased the lead  just before the break when Fraser hit an unstoppable drive into the net. For most of the second half 'More were in control and it was only in the dying minutes of the game that the defence was under any pressure.
Final score Kinlochshiel 1  Newtonmore 3
So title number four wrapped up with 3 games to spare, a very good season in which we have not lost a league game, it would be anice feeling to go a league season undefeated.
The 2nd team had a great 6  0 win away to Glengarry that also won the North Div 2 title with a game to spare so congratulations to this young team on a great season.
With the under 17's and under 14's also having great results this made a great weekend for Newtonmore Shinty Club
Congratulations also to Badenoch and Strathspey ladies who won the Valerie Fraser Cup for the first time, a great achievment.
All eyes turn to An Aird for next Saturday's Camanachd Cup Final, we hope to see you all there.
