Newtonmore v Kingussie

'More started the game in determined fashion and were a goal up in 2 minutes, a strong run at the heart of the Kingussie defence and a great shot which was well saved by the keeper, straight to the onrushing Danny who volleyed the ball home from close range. Kingussie were pinned back and the kingussie keeper had to be in top form to keep out a great strike from Chris. Glen made it 2  0 with a goal from a well worked free hit. Glen was in the mood for this game and more spadework from him set up Danny for number 3. Not to be outdone Fraser picked the ball up wide on the right and rifled an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net, 4  0 after 26 mins, 'More continued to dominate till the break but did not add to their 4 goals.
The second half started as the first had finished with 'More on the hunt for more goals.
The fifth arrived from man of the match Glen, another mazy run leaving defenders trailing behind him, a swift turn and well hit shot gave the keeper no chance(not bad for an ageing player, as he has been called this season). With 15 mins to go Fraser made it 6  0 with his second of the game.
Kingussie scored a consolation goal in the dying minutes of the game to make the final score
Kingussie 1  Newtonmore 6; there are new Kings in Badenoch.
A great performance and result after last weeks dissapointment.
Another great day at the veterans on Sunday, which was won by Newtonmore, thanks to all who participated and all who helped out on the day, BBQ and bar and teas etc. thanks to Evan and John for refereeing and all who attended

Second team had a very good 5  0 win against a strong Kinlochshiel which keeps them at the top.
