Inverary v Newtonmore
Inverary started brightly and for the opening ten minutes looked like a team at the top of the premier league, the 'More defence was once again proving hard to get past, 'More gradually took control of the centre and began to push forward, the opening goal in the 28th min. was a real beauty from Mike Russell, controlling the ball and finding himself with space to move forward
he hit the ball from fully 35 yards out , the Inverary keeper didn't realise the ball was past him
it was hit with such power, Mike prove me wrong but I don't think you will ever score a goal like that again. Newtonmore were now dominating as half time approached. Half time 1----0
A great start to the second half saw goals in the 46th & 47th min from Cameron Binnie and Danny Macrae all but seal the points, a further goal from Chris Sellar on 82mins finished it, Inverary got a small consolation when a deflected shot beat mike to make the final score
Inverary  1  Newtonmore 4  and put Newtonmore back on top of the Premier League.
Still not back to full strength with Paul Macarthur and Rory Kennedy still out, the versatility of some players is a huge bonus, with Mike moving out of his usual defensive roll into wing centre and playing well. We look forward to the game next week with Fort William travelling to The Eilan.
The scond team had a fantastic result in The Sutherland Cup against a Kyles team on top of  their league having won every game and not conceding a single goal, they must have arrived in Newtonmore full of confidence, the speed and passing of our young forward line, the strength of the centres and the determination of the defence shattered their proud record, at the end of the game they had lost by 10 goals to 2, our young 2nd team continue to grow in confidence and some of them will be coming to the notice of First team manager PJ,
Another good week.
