This was a chance to get back on track after last weeks defeat, with the injury list growing the depth of squad was put to the test.
Newtonmore dominated this game right from the first whistle, playing strong attacking shinty and forcing the Beauly keeper into action on a constant basis, however the all important first goal would just not come. Mike had to look sharp late on in the half with a couple of shots on target but 'More were soon back in control. Half time was approaching with the home fans wondering where the first goal was going to come from; half time 0---0
The second half was played mainly in front of the Beauly goal , with the young keeper in fine form it seemed like it could be another one of those days. The injury jinx struck again with Mike ,who was having a great game, pulling up with a muscle strain which could keep him out for a few weeks. A reshuffle of formation saw John coming on to wing forward and 10mins later he scored the opening goal, a backhanded volley that flew into the net, this relieved some of the growing tension among the support. Only 3 mins later a great fast flowing move involving Jamie , Evan , Danny and finally Evan to slot the ball home. 'More were flying now and soon made it 3, a great crossfield pass from Paul to Danny who sent a first time pass to the onrushing Jamie who rounded the keeper and scored from a tight angle. This finished the scoring for the day although Evan was unlucky when a great shot was superbly saved.
Full time 3---0
We now meet Glenurquhart in the semi final.
