Mactavish Cup, Newtonmore v Strathglass

On paper this fixture looked as if it would be plain sailing as Strathglass are 2 divisions below us, however it did not turn out that way.

'More had a dream start with Paul pushing forward from the centre line and  literally bursting the net with a ferocious drive from the left, 1--0 up and only 4 mins played, lookin good. From that point on though a great defensive display from Strathglass kept the 'More forwards at bay. It was one way traffic and seemed as if the second goal would come at any time soon. The half wore on and still no breakthrough. Half time 1---0

As always in a cup tie a one goal lead is never enough, there is always the chance of a shock, so 'More's second goal on the hour mark came as a relief, a very well taken goal from Calum, 2--0. The trend of the game did not change with 'More continuing to push forward in search of more goals. The third duly arrived from the tireless Glen who completed the scoring in the 80th minute.

Progress to the next round for Newtonmore and a fine performance from Strathglass.

Nice to see the strathglass under 14 team here today , I'm sure they all enjoyed getting their photos taken with the Camanachd Cup

and also the stories from Mac.
