Newtonmore started their quest for a seventh successive Premier League title win in style with a thumping 7-0 demolition of Glenurquhart at the Eilan.  The visitors had looked strong for the first 10 minutes, but then the blue and whites got into their stride and it was not surprise when last year's superstar Glen Mackintosh continued in the same vein with a superb strike in the 20th minute.  It was 2-0 just a minute later when rising start Robinson got in the act to round off a devastating three-minute spell as Mackintosh notched More's third just another minute on.

Newtonmore's domination of the rest of the first half was total with some spectacularly good shinty being played.  Stephen Macdonald at full back had the happy knack of always being in the right place at the right time and Campbell shone in his new and influential role in the centre.

There was plenty of clean hitting upfield and penetrating forward play on show from the defending champions.  Only the hugely talented Stuart Mackintosh in the Glen goal kept the score down with some excellent saves.  However, he was beaten for a fourth time in the 42nd minute by Mackintosh again for his personal hat-trick.  Not to be outdone, Evan Menzies weighed in on the stroke of half time to make it 5-0.

Understandably, Newtonmore took things slightly easier in the second period though they were still well on top and their own goald was rarely threatened.

Robinson made it 6-0 in the 53rd minute with a fierce strike and he completed his hat-trick with a looping shot that deceived Macdonald in the Glen goal on 83 minutes to end the scoring and send the home fans home satisfied.
