This cup is contested by the top 14 teams in the North of Scotland.

In 1898 Duncan Mactavish, a grain merchant in Inverness, presented a cup (rose bowl), for competition among clubs in the north. Newtonmore first entered the competition in 1901.

Details of Newtonmore’s games and teams will be found in the Club’s 125th anniversary history, The Boys of the Eilan: Shinty in Newtonmore 1820-1945 by Rosemary M Gibson with Rob Ritchie.
