The Heritage Lottery Fund and the Cairngorms Local Action Group funded a research project into the history of shinty in the area. The book ”The caman is their past time from the cradle to their graves: Shinty in Badenoch and Strathspey 1747 – 1939 is available for sale through the shop section of this website. This includes a CD of poetry, music and song ”The Land where Shinty is King”

Oral history recordings made during the project are being deposited in Highland Archives in Inverness and in the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore where the written records will be held to enable further research.
